In the convenience store category where every brand is constantly vying for the attention of the consumer, our challenge was to make MACE distinctive, and move away from their image of "traditional" "rural "and "old".

We dreamed up something totally out of left field—getting your MACE Face on is like diving headfirst into happiness! It launches you into a wild world of colour, crazy creatures, and over-the-top fun.

Plus, I've received some of the best internet comments ever during my career (below).

 

It got Irish people talking about a convenience store on the internet for the first time…

The brief also asked us to consider an agile production style so that we could keep future production costs low where possible, allowing us to create dynamic, reactive content when required, as well tactical promotional advertisements.

With some imagination and the help of green-screen, the used-to-be boring promotions now features walking sausages in a Paddy's day parade, Irish dancing snakes wearing wigs, singing Easter heads for an Easter promotion…
