In convenience stores where every brand fights for attention, our challenge was to make MACE distinctive and shake off their "boring," "dated," "countryside" image in Ireland.
We went totally left field—getting your MACE Face on means diving headfirst into happiness. A wild world of colour, crazy creatures, and over-the-top fun.
Plus, I got some of the best internet comments of my career (below).
It got Irish people talking about a convenience store on the internet for the first time…
To keep production costs low for promos, we built an agile style—green screen and wild imagination: sausages marched in a Paddy's Day parade, water bottles danced down the aisle like a Britney music video, and Easter Island heads broke into song for Easter sales. And these ran on telly!
